The Pearl Merchant

Matthew 13:1-2, 45-46. Translation: Ted Witham

On that day, Jesus left the house to sit teaching at the lakeside. 2 Such great crowds gathered that he got into a boat and sat in it, and the whole crowd stood on the beach. 3 And he told them many things in parables…

Jesus said: “Here is another comparison to picture what the domain of heaven is like. A merchant was on a quest for fine pearls.  On finding one pearl worth a vast amount, he went and sold every single thing he owned, and purchased it.”
